We've also got players signing up new contracts that our next manager may not want.

My only hope for Hooiveld is that his loan spell in Southampton may possibly help him massively when he returns to Celtic, as far as I can remember it's only for six months so we'll have him back in January. He came with glowing reports and had picked up player of the year award in Sweden so he's definitely not a bad player, just one that hasn't settled with us.
As for O'Dea I definitely wouldn't have let him go out on loan again although I'm sure all this is going through Lennons head at the moment as well. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, except when it makes you realise you should have done something differently.

Just nipped on to a Southhampton message board and saw this...

I have to say, I have been well impressed by Hooiveld this season. His composure and overall defensive work has been excellent. His aerial abilty is also superb, not only great in the air when defending but he also provides a real aerial threat in front of goal during set-pieces.
I actually think at times this season, he has looked the better centre-back when compared to Jose Fonte and that's saying something! (Although Fonte has been making mistakes recently).
I urge Adkins and The Don to approach Celtic at the first available opportunity in Januray to get the dutchman's signature on a permanent basis.
My best estimates say £1million to £1.5million should do it, and i'm confident he'll be well worth that money!
I am of the opinion as well that we didn't really give him a chance. No doubt he'll go back to being rubbish if he comes back up the road though, I think there is some sort of voodoo curse on the area of all pitch where our central defenders play. Get Thomas Rogne in there and stick with him for a while, maybe alongside Charlie Mulgrew. Swap Loovens and big Maj for a couple of bags of crisps and send them on their way.

He kept on getting injured, if he keeps fit then we would have him back.

Quite frankly when he played for us he looked as thow he had calipers on both legs, though I did read today about how well he is playing, amazing.
Also Rass has scored 4 in 5 games in a better league, again amazing.

thing is for me big rass never got a run in the team he never went to the paper like that big donkey down in southampton and he just got on with it, he is a target man that we need aswell he was fat but if you look at him now he has lost all the beef looking lean and playing well
if lennon knew anything he would recall the big man, but i find myself thinking pigs have a more chance of flying
