what does that mean for Celtic?
Take off the rivalry specs for a minute and contemplate it. There is no EPL on the horizon, CL is going to be a 3 game qualifier from this point on. So what does the future look like for Celtic minus their rivals and how do you think the Celtic board reacts in private?
You can just post answers that talk of joy if you want, but I'm thinking 2, 3 and 5 years hence.
117 viewers on the forum, there should be bundles to discuss.:excitement:

I'm 119 TTT and I have said all through this Rangers going broke Rangers going into this that and the next thing, that if Rangers disappeared of the planet tomorrow you would be lucky to get 25,000 at Celtic Park, and vice versa.
So doon the Suwanna the gether we'd go.

The thing is they'll never go completely. They'll do the same as airdrie.Which would be funny as fuck.
They'll need to take they stars off the jersey as the new team has never won anything.
Tam, I remember going to see Celtic in the early 90s and 25,000 was a decent crowd.
Wasn't till we got a new stadium that we started getting more. Fuck at Hampden we only
had about 17,000 season book holders. One game in particular against the hun they had more than
us there.

Wolfy I remember going to see the reserves on a fri night and there was more people for those games than there was the next day, yes we had people outside trying to throw a boycott but it was a waste of time, for you can't boycott something that no one wants.
But when Rangers came acalling it was a packed house, then Jock took over the lads that we used to go and watch on a fri night and the rest is history.
But my point is, if Rangers were taking out of this whoeful 2 horse race there would be no tv money,no attendance money, who would want to sponser us, as bad as it is right now sitting behind Motherwell it could end up that way.

I know what your saying. I started going in the mid to late 70s when the crowds where never massive either.
This seems to be a thing of the past 16 years that Celtic have started getting big crowds at home most weeks.
It was never gonna be sustained. Just as it wont at these english clubs, who have got a lot more to lose than us.

But it could have been sustained.
Our so called global fan base has went walkabouts, our nearer and dearer fan base are fed up, aye it reminds me of an auld line in the movies "ah coulda been a contender".
2003------------------------2011, could make a grown men weep.

2003------------------------2011, could make a grown men weep. You really think it could? I went to see them in Sydney and there performance and total lack of effort
would be enough to put anybody off. I know it was only a friendly but they had a duty to put on a show for these fans. Instead we got a cannae be bothered and petted lip attitude.
With that attitude the global fan base will have better things to do withe there money. It cost me a fuckin fortune for me and my boys to go. Would I do it again? No chance.

Yes it could have been, but instead of trying to sustain the football that we as Celtic supporters expect they have chased you and your sons.

but the thing is chaps, we still have hundreds of thousands of people scattered around the globe who have celtic in their hearts, that will never diminish, why do you think tam comes on from the big apple, wolfy from oz, ian from russia, half the posters on here are scattered to the four corners of the earth, we all have one thing in common, the love of celtic and it is breaking our hearts to see this once glorious club in decline, and we all know who is responsible for our predicament, if the current shower of incumbents handed over power to real celtic supporters we could then start to rebuild our club and all those supporters would return.

The fact is we dont know how it would affect us in the long run,you can speculate yes, but a lot would depend on how the other clubs react. When the huns were absolute pish in the early eighties the sheep and United came to the fore and produced good teams. All I know is if the huns disappear of the face of the earth the world will be abetter place,or at least the part of it I live in.

And then teams like Motherwell would have to build a bigger supporters club to allow for more bands.
We know this is all hypothetical but the virus that is hun is predominately secured within Rangers, take them away and the virus will spread and rapidly.
Just my opinion.

Good post Eck but you see we die hards will be here forever, but to give you an example, I had a picture of my grandson on the big screen at Celtic Park when he was 2 years old wearing his Celtic top, when he was 5 playing his first game in a league match he was pissed off because his team were playing in red and the opposition green, when he played FIFA with my son he always had to be Celtic, he could rhyme off the team, now hes 10 and he shows up at my home with a Man U jersey on.
Ok we'll remain but our club have lost.

if rangers go to the wall celtic will be in big trouble for around 3-4 years, we will not get the money thats on the table for sky other people ect, rangers have a hugh fan base they would be able to do a afc wimbledon or they have enough fans to put in a kitty and buy a 3rd division side and turn them into glasgow rangers fc and start there untill they are back into the SPL let's face it how many huns would go for a trail for their new team, fucking loads
they have fans with some money they would be back on their feet in 3-4 years nae bother if they have to start from scratch
but we would be in for a rough ride for a few years first
would this happen? i can't see them going to the wall, they have enough to cover it in view

And our board would be spending to be better than St Mirren, but then again.

If it happens I'll be stunned.
The worst case scenario I see is some silly little fine for Rangers.
