hi fellow tims fairly new member
with regards to Mr. Desmond (see being polite costs nothing - would have thought that would appeal to him) i gave up on our major shareholder a long long time ago.
four season ticket holders leave our house to support the club and i have to say none of us enjoy it anymore.
I havent heard the statement attributed to Mr. Desmond (did it again) before, posted by capriano - but it dosent shock me as this man has no regard for us whatsoever
he couldnt look less intrested when he graces the stadium with his presence, as rare as that is.
Been following celtic long enough to remember bad times and poor seasons and stood and took it all why, because i was a celtic supporter - now with disparaging remarks regardless of whatever context they were made, the total disregard for the support, and the relentless downsizing of the club i am questioning my support in the future - and i NEVER thought i would ever say that. BRING ON THE PROTESTS

nah he doesnt own us, he just has more shares than everyone else, theres a few major shareholders that make all the decisions, but the ball stops in his corner if were not producing the goods, so he has a few questions i want answered.

Not an excuse for him, but we will never know to what extent his own personal wealth was battered during the financial woes within the Irish banking sector. I know he has more than would allow for a dip, but if the bulk of his wealth is in business, yet his cash took a lashing then that could be driving his own personal "austerity" programme where the club is concerned. It does not excuse the comments, but it might explain in part the behaviour.
