He did well. Give him credit. I appreciate the opposition were not great but his raw pace is a real danger. Really noticed how poor Stokes was when played into him (ball retention), he is far better facing the opposition's goal. Matthews has had 2 great games in succession. Looks (at this premature stage) a real find.

Thought overall he was poor, but took his goals well and I agree about his pace being an asset, but Neil Lennon managed to spot a problem of his, that's hitting the first man and falling over the ball which he does continually.

He has a good shot on him though, and his pace can always be a problem for some teams, however sometimes you need a bit more than pace to get behind teams who are camping out at the back.

In all honesty he's lucky he's got as much game time as he has, with the exception of the Killie game, he's bordering on a waste of a jersey.

Agree, Capo.Ifind him very frustrating because he has qualities but generally isnt positive enough. Think if Commons wasnt "injured", Forrest would be getting rested like most young players.

everyone was poor first half, 3 golden chances missed (2 stokes, 1 hooper) but forest has pulled us out a hole a few times this season, be it with his direct play or taking the game by the scruff of the neck v killie, only 20 years old, would rather see him with his better delivery than mcgeady beating 4 defenders and then a poor delivery.

well done wee man.
