View Full Version : Has Lenny been Tobered and is Naisy absolved?
Noticed on the news yesterday that Lennon had a 'wee nik' under his left eye? Anyone else notice this?
......and does anyone else share my opinion that wee Naisy's injury was self inflicted, that the challenge was a nasty, over the ball stamp that left the opposing player with 10 stitches to close an open wound.
Most people seem to be sympathetic towards Naismith, yet no one's concerned about the player on the receiving end of his 'thuggery'. His challenge was career threatening and vindictive!!

I think that's a terrible comment to make. He got nothing like what he deserved. Gangrene and maybe amputation would make it about right for me.

Naismith is very dirty player, so if his intention was to hurt another player, he got his just desserts then.

I got criticised for saying his injury was the highlight of my season. It was meant in the sense it would make them less competitive. Having said that what were his intentions when he went in for the challenge ?

The question is more what do you think he intended? Do you think he intended to seriously injure the lad? Every week we see horrible tackles and there is no issue to the tackler.........................Naismiths tackle was in my opinion serious, had he not been so badly injured I suspect he may have gotten a red, but more likely a yellow. But he is not a rapist, a murderer, or a paedo, so some of the comments are a little excessive in my opinion. He is like Lennon in a lot of respects, the kind of player you hate playing against you but love playing for you.

There are very few players who I would wish ill on. Naismith is not one of those. I repeat, that as he is such a big player for them I thought it would assist our cause. Players like Diouf, Ian Ferguson, John Terry (sorry JT) are players I would not lose sleep over if their career was / had to be terminated prematurely.

I think it was a silly tackle that 9 times out of 10 does nothing but he gets a red for. This time it was "bingo". I have watched Paul Scholes put in tackles like that since the start of his career. Some players cannot and should not tackle, but in todays game they would get nowhere. I don't believe any pro would want to hurt any pro, stop him, yes, hurt him, no. What he did has possibly ended his own career in the sense that he now has two f****d knees not one.
I personally find that unfortunate.

Did you ever see tackle by Sourness on Billy Stark ( when Billy was looking for his boot) ?

I didn't mate, but I'll give you that he had a bad streak in him. I remember on a Scotland double bill he broke Siggi Jonnsons leg and some Welsh fella's nose in what appeared to be pretty intentional actions. But hey. I'm not Souness so I wouldn't rightly know.

Was in 80's when Blly was with us. Cant even get it on youtube, (I have it on video somewhere in the house, but missus hidden it incase kids get hold of it), However when I tried to access it via youtube they showed a tackle by Sourness in a European game. The funniest thing is that with GS literally tackling the bloke bollock high, GS then moans to the ref that the victim (crumbled in a heap, with air ambulances rushing to the scene) nipped his ankle. Deserved an emmy award. !! Richard Burton would have been proud.

No he's not and it's quite insulting that a cheating little shit who could've easily ended a guy's career has been likened to Lennon. I agree Lenny was aggressive in your face and a pain in the hole really, but I can't recall any horrific challenges and we'll not even comment about diving, Lenny would get a brass neck if he did, Naismith seems to revel in it.
Karma is a bitch for him.
And aye, I did see Lenny's eye too.

Lenny has had that wee nick in his eye for a while, it has just got a little bit bigger, dont see what the fuss is about that.
As for Naismith, if you dish it out, you need to take it as well.In saying that, it was self inflicted and along with his time on the sidelines, he should have had a red card and another week added to his injury time.
What goes round ,comes around, Karma indeed for one of the sons of evil.

Now now FD. The comparison was more around the love/hate opponents have/had for both of them. I don't really care who dives and who is dirtier, my point and I thought my post was fairly clear. As opponents you hate them, as players in your team you love them, they both possessed that trait. I've also said his tackle may well have merited a red, but what difference would that have made? A three match ban, do you really think that would help anything?
He is a decent player and if he played for Celtic I'm sure you're views would be a little different.
