To quote one of my girlfriends favourite words, last night Celtic were 'awesome'. It's a commonly used phrase in North America, not so much on these shores.
However, I can only boast about how good Celtic were last night and this word fits the bill. It doesn't matter how good anyone else is playing, it's what your team does in each game that counts.
It was an important match against Hearts and you always, always, always expect a tough game. On this occasion though Celtic well and truly stuffed this mob.
When you have the septic nature that many Hearts fans do it is always pleasing to make them suffer as they watch their team get taken apart by Celtic. Three superb first half goals from Brown, Wanyama and Ledley were rounded off by Gary Hoopers 17th goal of the season in the second half.
This was a team performance though from back to front using every player along the way. Changes were made later on in the game but the starting eleven could have played all night.
I don't think anyone is getting carried away just yet, but Celtic fans are enjoying this moment in time as much as the players are. The form that some of the players are on is, to quote Lennon, 'devastating'.
At the moment there are players all vying for the same position and its healthy for the team product. Its keeping things fresh and not leaving Lennon limited for choice.
We have had our injuries this season in the team, but aside from one or two players out, the squad has bounced back. That kind of character is born out of circumstance and it has strengthened the team.
There are no easy games ahead for Celtic, especially when you are playing for three trophies. My mouth is watering at the very prospect.
