Alex Salmond, Scottish First Minister and political rambler. He's also a bit of tube and every interview he gives lends more and more support to my opinion.

In his most recent interview, this time prior to the David Camerons talk on Scottish independence, wee Alex has stuck his neck out for our rivals across the city. He also used that hottest of phrases right now that Celtic need R******!

I won't get involved in the politics of independence but the first thing that sprang to mind in his interview was of course 'votes'. In politics its always about votes but Salmond has disgraced the whole situation by talking about Celtic when his comments are not welcome.

Celtic have made a statement as have many other Celtic websites throughout the day. The First Minister needs to keep his nose out of football and in particular the tax case surrounding our rivals.

They have a debt to pay and they should be dealt with without interference or comment from Salmond. Too often has he become involved where he is not welcome.

He's a poor politician who is blinded by his own revolution and he seems to think little before he opens his mouth. No offense to vertically challenged people, but it may just be the small man syndrome doing most of his talking.

Some good news today in that swift justice was administered when Daniel Majstorovic's red card appeal by Celtic was upheld and rescinded. This follows a poor decision made on the park by officials who were clearly having a bad day.

Despite my uneasiness with big Maj at times, I believe the best Celtic team is one with as many players available for selection as possible. To be fair to the big fella he had a steady spell at the end of last year before his injury.

My heart is usual in my mouth when he is on the ball, as the weekends match demonstrated before he was sent off. He only needs to do the basics in order to get a game but if he fouls that up I would rather he didn't play at all - hypocritical, I know!

If he stays beyond this season I do not envisage him playing week-in-week-out. He will most likely stick around and become a Tom Boyd because he makes a good cup of tea, as MON once said.

Serioulsy though, he's an experienced player which may have some benefits to Lennon. I fully expect our younger defenders to continue their establishment in the team as the weeks and months role by.

Lennon will be pleased with his experienced defender coming back into contention after being out through injury though. At this point in the season he will want every player to ensure the recent 10 point bonus does not go to waste.

Hail! Hail!
