If we're going to keep track of poor refereeing performances in here, it is only fair to mention the good ones to to get some perspective. I thought he generally had a good game, he didn't stand out which is always a good thing. As ever, there are always going to be a few complaints. For example, JVOH's booking seemed harsh. It seemed to be for dissent, but he wasn't aiming his outburst at the referee and was just frustrated. Are you not allowed to show any emotion on a football pitch these days? Motherwell may have a few complaints themselves, with Robson getting away with a hand ball in their box that should have seen him booked and a potential hand ball for our opening goal. After seeing the goal a few times, it may have glanced his arm and actually been McDonald that directed it towards goal with his head, but a glance is still a touch and Motherwell may have had a case. That said, the referee still put in a good performance and allowed the game to flow without too much incident.

i disagree, jvh booking not for dissent as he had his card out before the reaction,a reaction that i completely agree with ,he gets pulled up consistantly for nothings. the robson hand ball i believe wasnt given because he thought it was a well hand that it hit ,i know i did and i had a similar view to him. ( btw if your talking about reactions to decissions then what about their keeper at that one !! ) i lost count of the fouls the guy with blonde hair had and why the player who brought down killen in the last couple of mins wasnt booked is a joke ! oh, and robson halfed in the first half at the touchline, when we scored our goal i think !!!!??? no, you can keep freemason away from our games thanks very much. im amazed he didnt caution mcgeady for BEING fouled so much, he did at inverness ........ rant over hail-hail

If the referee was so against us and out to stop us winning, why did he let our first goal stand when he could have cut it off for a foul on the goalkeeper or a hand ball? I don't think it was a foul on the keeper and the handball is debatable, but he could have easily given both decisions without too much hassle because these decisions are given in football every week. Especially fouls on the goalkeeper as they are far too protected. I still believe he had a good game and while he may have missed some decisions, they effected both teams.

I may be wrong but the Robson hand ball would have been very difficult to see in real time. Everyone was jumping for the ball in a sea of humanity and since the ref is probably focused on looking for a foul I don't see how he could have seen that one. Plus Robson might have been pushed from behind thus negating the hand ball.

I think the ref did a decent job. I guess by my way of thinking if we don't get totally screwed then I think it's a decent job. :waaaht::waaaht:

Didn't he give the ball for handball? :02: The play certainly stopped with them on the ball.

I thought he did okay, but the boy Reynolds could easily have been sent off. We had people going on about McManus challenge in the OF game, Reynolds did the exact same thing to Robson and nothing and then in the 2nd half he brought down Killen when he broke forward. Do agree I was surprised that the blonde haired guy "probably we're talking Hughes" wasn't booked.

In all I thought he was decent though.

The handball by Robson wasn't given. The ball eventually went out for a goal kick and the Motherwell players all charged at the referee because he didn't do anything about it as far as I can remember.
