With April Fools day gone football reality returned when Saturday finally came. The first disappointment was to come Celtic's way but there was misery in store for FC Bankrupt too.
A waterlogged pitch in Inverness was confirmed by match official Craig Thompson at 10am much to the anger of many travelling Celtic supporters and also concern by the club. A simple way to remedy this would have been putting back the kick off by a few hours even if it meant no coverage by ESPN, but all sectors of Scottish Football have shown time and time again that thinking outside the box is not something they are capable of.
However, delight and indeed light was beginning to shine through the clouds and not just in Inverness. No, live on BBC Sportsound resident pundits James 'Succulent Lamb' Traynor (my old email sparring partner) threw the gauntlet down to Chic 'The Cheerleader' Young over comments about Rangers finances in a recent press conference.
This was beautiful broadcasting and a fine listen for any Celtic fan out there listening in. You will be pleased to hear that if you missed it, MP3's are popping up all over the web today, so look out for them if you missed it.
But as Jimmy Cricket said: "There's more!"
As the clouds began to part and the sun began to shine, Mr Nicecock himself saddled up in the dying minutes of the match at Ibrox today and popped in the winner for Dundee United. A one on one with the goalkeeper and a cool finish kept Rangers two points behind Celtic in the SPL.
A frustrating day for Celtic and the travelling supporters, but every cloud has a silver lining. Thank you to David Goodwillie, Chic Young and Jim Traynor for making it all feel better again.
One, two, three, awwwwwwww!
Hail! Hail!
