Since Nakamura signed for the club much has been made of his contributions, or lack of them, in Celtic v Rangers games.

Shunsuke Nakamura

He has now been showered with praise for his performance and spectacular goal on Wednesday night, but I was much more interested in his response to all the pats on the back.

He went to great lengths to point out the effect of Barry Robson's midfield performance on the team.

He said...I'm paraphrasing here..."Barry played really well and dominated in the midfield area. This allowed me to play a free role. He plays in a different style."

"When Scott Brown comes back, we will have to change style again."

If his comments have been interpreted correctly, this would appear to be a bit of a bombshell for Gordon Strachan with regard to future team selections.

Nakamura has seemingly dropped a heavy hint that perhaps the team is stronger with Hartley and Robson in midfield, rather than with Scott Brown and...ha, ha,...Donati!

My sentiments exactly!

Indeed.Unfortunately the way in which Nakamura put this across points to the disappointing conclusion that he expects Brown to come straight back into the team at Robsons expense.Or was a it a bit of reverse psychology by the wee man?

I noticed tucked away in a corner of the Daily Record yesterday a comment by Gordon Strachan that Scott Brown will not necessarily return to the team automatically for the game at the weekend after his suspension.

He said..."I hope he learns a lesson from his bookings."

Maybe Strachan reads the posts on Mon The Hoops!
