After a Uefa Cup Tie at Parkhead in 2003, Blackburn boss at the time Graeme Souness infamously stated that...

"It was men against boys out there."

The Beast was told in no uncertain terms by Henrik Larsson that...

"He should have kept his mouth shut until after both games had been played"...after Celtic recorded an easy 2-0 victory at Ewood Park in the return leg.

Well, the Uefa Cup Final of 2008 IS over, and I think we can safely say that it WAS men against boys last night, or more accurately, men against Billy Boys!

Zenit's smooth free flowing game was a joy to watch, as was the sight of so many Huns sitting with their heads in their hands as they watched their team being exposed for what they are; a shaky house of cards held together by watered down glue.

A real highlight of the game for me was near the end, where with seconds to go Zenit scored their second goal.

Up went the hands of Kirk Broadfoot and Davie Weir at the linesman and referee looking for the goal to be 'disallowed.'

It must then have suddenly dawned on them that this wasn't Ibrox, and this game didn't have Scottish officials in charge.

No Right Reverend Archbishop Mike McCurry or friendly linesman to come to their aid.

Craig Levein must have had a moment of quiet satisfaction!

I know I did.

All that is required now is for Motherwell, St. Mirren, and Aberdeen to huff, puff and blow their house down, and bring this season of 'The Cheating Bastards' to a just end.

C'MON THE HOOPS!
