right.
all works of endeavour start with the word 'right'.
not long ago someone posted a thread entitled 'the perfect storm', now i can't even remember what it was about, but the tag line settled nicely into my head and began to weave recent events around it.
we have the gretna situation, we have the fir park situation, we have the fixture backlog situation, we have the situation where the rangers are top of the league. there are loads more things going wrong with the spl, but for the sake of time - the game is moving on and leaving the spl behind.
or rather, the spl is doing nothing to keep pace. that is the crux of what i want to say.
the spl is an institution (not metaphorically) and a business. like any business they need to live in tommorrows world. what can the spl do to improve??
my first thought goes towards improving attendances. this is essential. it also requires multiple approaches. i think that the spl should encourage clubs with half empty grounds to implement family days and local school days etc. in fact i think that all schools should be given free tickets to distribute as rewards (helping both the club and offering incentive in schools). open days, meet the player days, anything that encourages people to attend. because clubs make lots of money from people when they are in through buying food and drink and souvenirs.
does anyone else have any thoughts on how to improve the spl?
(this thread isn't about whether celtic should be in the spl or not :) we can save that chestnut for some other time)
