Nine Celtic players were booked at Ibrox by Mike McCurry at the start of the season to assist Rangers to a cosy three points and give them a helping hand up the league table.
Dundee Utd were denied a stonewall penalty against Rangers a couple of weeks ago and had a perfectly good goal chalked off by McCurry and his
linesman for good measure to again give the huns a bit of encouragement in their quest for the league title, a bit like their predecessors Hugh Dallas and Andy Davis who stepped in to award Rangers a penalty against Hearts a few years ago deep into injury time and in their hour of need.
None of this mattered last night as Aberdeen battered the Forces of Darkness to a bloody 2-0 defeat at Pittoddrie and Celtic just edged a hard fought game by 1-0 against Dundee Utd at Tannadice.
And so, justice was done.
That wee Pastor McCurry's antics came to nought.
I listened to Radio Clyde last night to see what the reaction to the front page story on Cheating Wee Pastor McCurry in yesterday's Daily Record
would be, but not a cheep from Record sports writer Hugh Keevins or indeed any of the pundits.
Comment would have been relevent since last night was the culmination of the league season and McCurry and his dodgy decisions had played a big part in it, and the Clyde pundits had previously defended the Wee Pastor as "A man of integrity."
What price McCurry's integrity now?
But of course they neatly sidestepped the issue.
Radio Clyde integrity.
Well, the league is won, and the season, apart from the Cup Final, is at an end, and we can all bask in the rosy glow of success.
Well done to Gordon Strachan, so often this season bollocked and barracked by so many, and well done to the players also.
Winning three league titles in a row in his first three seasons, Strachan has become the first Celtic manager to achieve this feat in forty years, and so has truly become a Celtic Legend.
The club now goes straight into the Champions League next season, without having the added burden of extra game qualifiers.
Not to mention the juicy £10m to £12m on offer!
There will now be a couple of weeks to re-charge the batteries, and then.....off we go again!
Who will we sell?
Who will we buy?
Here's to four in a row!
C'MON THE HOOPS!
