View Full Version : Rangers Debt Could be Their Ruination...

When it comes to fantasy excuses for not winning the title this season, Rangers players and fans are world class.
This season marks not only three in a row for Celtic , but six out of the last eight league titles.
Rangers fans just cannot face the reality or pain of the fact they are now firmly
'Simply the Second Best.'
Things will only get worse for The Forces of Darkness in my opinion.
The idea that Walter Smith will get a 'warchest' of £20mill or £30mill as a preparation for next season has been shown to be more fantasy, with reports over the last couple of days clearly being of the opinion that Walter Smith will see little of the Alan Hutton £9mill transfer fee, and indeed not a lot of the profit from this years run in the Uefa Cup.
The vast majority of this cash will be used to reduce some of Rangers vast debt, and also the interest on that debt.
There is some suspicion that the oft stated amount that Rangers are in debt is vastly under estimated.
This seems to have gone unnoticed and unremarked upon because of their run to the Uefa Cup final.
It could be their ruination.

A large portion of the monies they earned from Europe will go to ENIC, the company who put 40M into Rangers a few seasons back.
Funnily enough though, the main man of ENIC Joe Lewis is now involved with Spurs, the team who gave Rangers 9M for Hutton and are subject to speculation of a multi-million pound deal for McGregor.
HMM?

here`s something to think on when Celtic went to the final against porto, the winalot hacks said all we made was £6 mill , but the same hacks will tell you that rearangers have made an incredible £20 mill from the same competition ,
now here`s something even dafter by the winalot hacks who slaver over minties dropped tit-bits, they will tell you that the Huns can manage their debt which i might add is rising all the time, and with interest rates going up every 6 months its only a matter of time before they can no longer afford the level of debt they have, yet the winalot hacks say nahh its nothing :fingersx: Gretna anyone :fingersx:
:approve: tell all the huns you know its gonna be 4 in a row :approve:
now that has a great sound to it dont you think :approve:

i thought rangers cleared almost all of their debt with the share issue a year or 2 ago??
also, enic can't demand their investment back. no investment is secure and i'm pretty sure that what was suggested above is illegal. although the fact that enic(if they still are, not quite sure) are shareholders in both the huns and ,more so, spurs and that there seems to be a bit of a transfer trend there is a wee bit suspicious. perhaps there's a bit of clever accounting , ala enron, going on.
as for the suppossed 30m from europe and mutton, i'm pretty sure those shareholders who saw their investment disintegrate when they announced the huge debt will not be of the mind to waive the quarterly dividend that they are due. so even if they were lucky enough to have turned that sort of money over from europe and mutton, most if not all of it will be swallowed by shareholder dividends, not least that of minty moonbeam who will, despite what his propoganda machine might say, will want to recover a good chunk of the money he has laid out to keep them afloat.
btw, get klasnic in instead of samaras. quicker, more experienced, better technique and free.

but we didn't have champions league football that year. i think the hun figure is based on champions league and uefa cup money they made this season, keeping in mind their's a tad more cash in the uefa cup now in comparison with then.

at this time last year i read an article on celticundergroung.com, that put the new debt even after the share issue a few years ago as over £17 mill , with a large increase in the interest rate on the horizon, even with the money from the mutton deal and the euro money the debt would take a huge chunk out of this money just to bring things up to last years debt level, thats not taking into account this years figures, isn't it strange why minty didn't publish the level of debt at the last agm,
more importantly is the fact that the bank told them a few years ago, get the debt in order or else ,so if they cant manage the debt and it keeps rising what will the bank do next ,:approve: Gretna anyone:approve:

I think the fact that they can no longer wave "The Establishment£ flag as their bankers are now English based will have a major impact on their operations. As has been mentioned in an earlier post they were told 2/3 years ago to get it sorted and it doesnt really seem to have happened. Its wonderful that we post profit after profit and they are potless.
Has it escaped anyone that it has all gone tits up as well since Minty sold the jerseys to JJB who are suffering big time and closing store after store. If they cant sell the jesrseys then the Huns cant make money from merchandising.
Fcuk them all. HAIL HAIL.

Dont think minty put in 50 mof his own money. Was it not money from other his other companies. Dont know the technicalities of that "Donation" if investment or loan.
