Speaks from the heart
A very happy Bhoy...
...that goes for you, me and everybhody.
It has been a long time coming for Celtic and Neil Lennon as a manager. I cannot think of anyone who will be happier than himself.
The wait has taken him through the carnage of a team devastated by one time hero Tony Mowbray and a season of discontent.
In that first full season Lennon rubber stamped his model with the introduction of several players whilst others were moved on. It is worth noting once again that this is viewed ad a team building season by some (me) and one of disappointment by some others I have spoken with.
A family relative of my own was in the belief that Neil would walk away after that season because of the death threats. I didn't believe that for a second as it didn't fit with Neil's personality in my opinion.
I was sure he would fight on the following season and he did. However, at half time during the 3-3 game with Kilmarnock earlier this season, I was sure Lennon would chuck it.
As we know it turned out to be the turning point for the team after an up and down period which saw us slip behind our rivals. The team spirit that came to fruition enabled Celtic to cruise past the tax evaders.
The rest we have been able to view with joy, the League Cup Final being an exception. The only thing that matters though is that Lenny has the prize he so wanted.
Stick that in yer pipe and smoke it Ally. I'll even lend you match to light it with.
Hail! Hail!
